Being Truthful Is Better Than Lying.

The food system's reality is too much to bear.

After being a stay-at-home dad for 8 years, I'm reentering the workforce.  I've applied to a few places.  I decided it's better not to lie.  At home with my boys has been a fulltime job.  I figure if anyone can understand, it's women.  I'm not looking for sympathy, I know it's hard. The workforce's hard but I'll land my dream job soon. I hope to work in a grocery store, but if not a hobby store or maybe even a decent restaurant.

I've learned from my wife about the grocery world.  I have much to learn. I will continue to learn from my wife, but the food's the issue today.  I have discovered anomalies with the modern food chain, I'm not pointing fingers at the companies but rather the government, the media and 3-letter agencies which protect greedy corporate interests.

This is funny but no joke.

I'm not trying to change the corporate world but the minds of the people buying the questionable products.  I won't be discussing the suspect products to my coworkers or customers but rather people for which I care.  My goal is to teach my 2 sons about the ingredients to avoid, the importance of eating whole foods, and buying the choicest ingredients.

I'm not trying to wake up the world to the dangers of modern food, corporate greed, cheap fillers, fast food, Organipeel, Apeel, or any ultra-processed food but rather a select few people.

This is some sneaky stuff to pull on unsuspecting Americans.

The modern American grocery stores are filled with scientific ingredients like petroleum-based dyes, toxic seed oils, gums, conditioners, mono and di-glycerides, DATEM, genetically modified organisms, glyphosate, table salt, cheap imported spices, natural flavors, artificial flavors, cellulose, artificial sweeteners, monosodium glutamate, and cheap sugars.  I could continue forever.

Way too many ingredients!
Just an example how things in the food system have changed.

I hope not to return to restaurant work but under duress I would though. I need to feel better about the products I'm pushing.  At least grocers require these companies to list ingredients.  I can read the ingredients to see what I would eat or the ones I wouldn't touch.  I choose not to betray any company I work for but rather inform myself as a consumer which products I approve or don't.  In a restaurant, I've got zero idea where any food comes from or what ingredients are contained therein.

As a warning to anyone who reads this, the American food system has failed it's citizens.  Corporations hired scientists to make the food taste better without regard to the health of the consumer.

To the people that know me, I didn't care in the past about this issue.  I ate the standard American diet.  I was overweight, slow and indifferent.  Over the last several years, food has become a concern to me.  I moved away from my medical care by the Cherokees to take care of my health.  The medical industry was born compromised and created to build a customer base.

Food is medicine.  There's no magic cure-all pill or elixir.  The system's fucked.  The human body is infinitely healable.  Doctors and hospitals create bigger problems than they could ever fix.  Y'all should research as much as possible.  Having free medical care or even insurance isn't an excuse to just throw caution to the wind.  I learn more every day.   With the internet at your disposal, you may find out more about nutrition than your doctor.

A joke, or is it?  So much processed garbage out there.

I'm far from an expert about what we're all up against but I've started down a path to keep me away from medical monopoly.  If you can't pronounce the ingredients on your food-like product, odds are you shouldn't consume it.  I will continue to search and research to make the best decisions for my family, friends, and especially myself.
